SPACE STATION EXCLUSIVE 10pm Thursday, 22 March 2001. All eyes were on the sky as Russian space controllers brought the 15 year old space station 'M.I.R.' into retirement.
Top Notch Video crews, strategically placed at Springwood & Linden in the Blue Mountains, captured exclusive footage of M.I.R. burning up over Australian skies.
"The re-entry resembled a meteorite shower with burning pieces streaking across the night sky" Jason Webster, TNV Manager said.
TNV provided Australian Television stations with the last video of M.I.R. travelling at 17,500 miles an hour in Australian sky's before it's 40 tons of debris plunged into a remote swath of the Pacific between New Zealand and Chile.
